Unicorn Goods is the world's largest vegan store. Our mission is to save the planet, people, and animals by selling and promoting animal-free products. We donate 1% of our profits to pro-animal organizations and are a Public Benefit Corporation and social enterprise. Read about our impact.
We're working hard to create a future that's good for animals, people, and the planet. We believe that it's wrong to hurt animals, and we're frustrated with how hard it is to find cruelty-free and animal-free products. That's why we do what we do.
Everything on Unicorn Goods is vetted to the best of our ability to avoid animal products and animal testing. We do our best to make sure that nothing on our site contains leather, fur, wool, down, or silk, and we also try to make sure nothing is tested on animals.
We do the best we can to avoid listing items that contain traces of animal byproducts in the form of glues, dyes, and other chemicals, but due to the lack of transparency common in these industries, we cannot guarantee that these trace chemicals are completely absent in 100% of the products we list. Whenever possible, we recommend buying products from 100% vegan brands. To make that easier, under the "Brands" menu button, we have marked 100% vegan brands with a Ⓥ and created a separate list for those brands.
Every year, 70 billion animals are used for human consumption. The animal agriculture industry is immensely cruel to animals by design, even in the developed world. It is the worst industry for the environment, creating severe water pollution, rainforest destruction, algal blooms, and 18% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Meat packing and leather tanning are often cited as the worst industries for human rights violations, and the chemical and biological pollutants they emit destroy ecosystems and poison millions of people every year. The development of new viruses and new antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria are both credited to animal agriculture, and the leading causes of death in the developed world have all been linked to our diets heavy in animal products. Living a vegan lifestyle isn't just more compassionate toward animals, it's better for people and the planet, too.
At Unicorn Goods, we believe that you should not have to sacrifice time, money, or style to look good, feel good, and be good. We think that making it easier to make better choices makes people more likely to make those choices. The best way to solve the problem of animal agriculture is to shift the market toward vegan products. To read more about our theory of change, click here.
We are a PETA-Approved Vegan vendor, which means that we only list products that do not knowingly contain animal products. We have high standards for animal rights, human rights, and sustainability. Our most important requirement is that products are vegan to the best of our knowledge, but we also look for things like social missions, environmental stewardship, and supply chain transparency. For the Planet
According to NASA climate scientist Dr. James Hansen, avoiding animal products is the single most impactful thing we can do as individuals to reduce our environmental footprint. For more information, read about or watch the documentary Cowspiracy.
Animal agriculture and its related industries – like leather tanning – are among the worst industries on the planet for human rights violations. Avoiding animal products ensures that you aren't inadvertently supporting abusive industries that don't respect workers. Read more.
For AnimalsEvery year, over 70 billion animals are used globally to make products ranging from food to clothing. That's ten animals for every person living on Earth. Using animals for human consumption is unnecessary, whether it's for food or for other products such as clothing. We are working to completely eliminate animal products and byproducts from manufacturing supply chains.
