2015 Annual Report
Posted by Ashwini Ramanisankar
We're back and ready to go, y'all.
Last year, we started off on a mission last year to harness the power of consumerism for good. We wanted to help people buy less leather and fewer animal-made products while making the world a better place.
When we first launched Good Goods, we quickly realized what a big task this was. With a month, we hit the Squarespace page limit - oh yes, there is one. Over the past six months, we've slowly moved over 1000 items one by one onto our new platform to accommodate our growth. It was a labor of love. We now have over 200 vendors and over 1300 products and we don't plan on slowing down.
We relocated. Once in Nashville, Tennessee, now we live and work in Providence, Rhode Island. We partnered with a social business incubator called Social Enterprise Greenhouse and are based out of their social entrepreneur co-working space.
We reassessed. The decision to turn this little experiment into a full-time pursuit came from deep reflection on our purpose as individuals. We realize that we have one chance to make the world a better place - and this is how we want to do it.
We rebranded. Our new name, Unicorn Goods, reflects our mission, attitude, and character. We find rare, undiscovered items that are pure expressions of the intention to do good. While we have a serious mission to make the world better, we know we can do that with a fun company that makes people happy. Our logo, the unicorn horn or delta triangle, is also a symbol of change.
We revamped. We added a wish list so that you can save things you love for later. Our new site also allows you to share items with their friends and sort by product type.
With our relaunch, we renew our commitment to eliminate animal and human suffering and restore the planet.
So check us out and give us your feedback. Send us to your friends. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. Send us your recommendations.
We're ready to save world. Let's do this.
Love and rainbows,
The Unicorn Goods Team
